  • The dream of every Igbo man is to build a comfortable home both in the city and in his village, secure a good job or run a thriving business, make wise investments, drive good cars, marry a beautiful Igbo woman, raise sons and daughters, give them the best education, travel the world, grow old with his wife, and pass on peacefully in old age.

  • The Difference Between ‘Chukwu’ and ‘Chi’

    A thread

The name Chukwu is a combination of two Igbo words: Chi (spirit) and Ukwu (great). Therefore, Chukwu literally means “The Great Chi” the supreme, almighty spirit that governs the universe.

Chukwu is the ultimate creator, the source of life, the being above all beings. In many ways, Chukwu functions like the God figure in monotheistic religions: invisible, all-knowing, all-powerful, and eternal.
But here’s where Igbo philosophy goes deeper.

Chukwu doesn’t just stay above. He shares a part of Himself with every human being. That shared spark of the divine is called your Chi.

  • • “The blockade was carried out by Biafran soldiers, not the Federal Government.”

    • “The death toll was in the hundreds, not millions.”

    • “I blame Ojukwu for the failure of the Aburi Accord,” etc.

For the past few days, Yakubu Gowon has been blatantly lying about the genocide he committed against the Igbo people, which claimed over 5 million lives. The blockade-induced kwashiorkor killed more people than gunfire.

Gowon, we will not sit back and allow you to rewrite history!
