Of course. My apologies for the misunderstanding. Here is the complete documentation formatted so you can copy and paste it directly onto a WordPress page using the standard editor.

This is broken into two parts: a special HTML block for the styled “Addons” section, and the rest of the text which you can paste directly.

Step 1: The Addons Section (Custom HTML)

In the WordPress page editor, add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the following code into it. This will create the styled grid you requested.

Step 2: Main Documentation Content

Now, copy all the text below and paste it directly into your WordPress page below the HTML block you just created. The editor should automatically format the headings, lists, and bold text.

Installing the plugin is a standard WordPress procedure.

  1. Download the main plugin file from your CodeCanyon Downloads page. It will be a .zip file (e.g., me-as-you.zip).
  2. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Plugins → Add New.
  4. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.
  5. Choose the .zip file you downloaded and click Install Now.
  6. Once the installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

3. License Activation (Important First Step!)

Important: You must activate your license to unlock all features and receive future updates.

  1. Find Your Purchase Code:
    • Go to your Downloads page on CodeCanyon.
    • Find the “Me As You” plugin in your list.
    • Click the Download button and select “License certificate & purchase code” (PDF or text).
    • Open the downloaded file and copy the purchase code.
  2. Activate in WordPress:
    • In your WordPress admin dashboard, a new menu item “Me As You” will have appeared.
    • Go to Me As You → License.
    • Paste your purchase code into the field and click Save and Activate.

You should see a success message and an “Active” status. The plugin is now fully functional!

4. Core Configuration (Admin Settings)

Now, let’s configure the main settings. Navigate to Me As You → Settings.

Branding & Appearance

  • Site Name: The name of your social network (e.g., “My Social App”). This will appear in various places.
  • Welcome Title: The large title text shown to new users on the login/register page.
  • Primary/Secondary Color: Set the main brand colors for your app’s interface.
  • Logo: Upload your site’s logo. This will appear on the login page and in the header. A square image (like 100×100 pixels) is recommended.

Impersonation Rules

  • Impersonation Duration (Hours): How long one user can impersonate another. Set to 0 to completely disable the impersonation feature.
  • Allow Impersonated Users to Post: If checked, a user who is currently being impersonated can still post as themselves. If unchecked, they are “locked out” from posting until the impersonation ends.
  • Require Verified Targets/Impersonators: These checkboxes add an extra layer of control, allowing you to restrict impersonation to and from only “Verified” users (see Section 8).

API Keys

  • Giphy API Key: To allow users to post GIFs, you need a free API key from Giphy.
    1. Go to https://developers.giphy.com/.
    2. Create an account and then create a new App to get an API key.
    3. Paste the key here.

Advertisements

The plugin includes several ad slots. You can paste HTML, ad code (like Google AdSense), or even WordPress shortcodes into these text boxes.

  • Ad After 1 Post: Appears in the main feed after the very first post.
  • Ad After Every 5 Posts: Appears repeatedly in the feed after the first few posts.
  • Search Section Ad: Appears on the Search/Explore page.
  • Right Sidebar Ad: Appears on the desktop version in the right-hand column.

5. Messaging & Notifications Setup (OneSignal)

To enable real-time push notifications (e.g., “Someone liked your post”), you need a free account with OneSignal.

  1. Create a OneSignal Account: Go to OneSignal.com and sign up for a free account.
  2. Create a New App in OneSignal:
    • In your OneSignal dashboard, click “New App/Website”.
    • Give it a name (e.g., your website’s name).
    • Select Web as the platform and click Next.
    • For integration, choose WordPress Plugin or Website Builder.
    • On the next screen, select WordPress.
    • Fill in your Site Name and Site URL. Important: Uncheck the box for “Auto-resubscribe”.
  3. Get Your Keys:
    • OneSignal will now show you your App ID and REST API Key. You need both of these.
    • You can ignore the rest of the setup steps on the OneSignal site (like downloading files), as the plugin handles everything else.
  4. Enter Keys in WordPress:
    • Navigate to Me As You → Messaging in your WordPress admin.
    • Copy the App ID from OneSignal and paste it into the “OneSignal App ID” field.
    • Copy the REST API Key from OneSignal and paste it into the “OneSignal REST API Key” field.
    • Click Save Changes.
  5. Test It: Click the Send Test Notification button. If your keys are correct, you should receive a push notification on your device (you may need to accept the permission prompt first on your website).

6. Setting Up the Frontend Page

The plugin automatically creates the main page where the social app lives.

  1. Confirm the Page: Go to Pages → All Pages. You should see a new page named “Social” (or whatever you set your Site Name to) with the shortcode [me_as_you_app] inside it. This is the main page for your app.
  2. (Optional) Set the Social App as Your Homepage:If you want your website’s main URL (e.g., www.yoursite.com) to go directly to the social app, follow these steps:
    • Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress dashboard.
    • Under “Your homepage displays”, select A static page.
    • For the “Homepage” dropdown, select your “Social” page.
    • Click Save Changes.

7. Editing Legal Pages

Disclaimer: The plugin creates “Terms and Conditions” and “Privacy Policy” pages with placeholder text. You are responsible for replacing this with your own policies. We are not providing legal advice.

Find these pages under Pages → All Pages and edit them with your content.

8. User Management (Verification)

You can grant a “Verified” badge to specific users, which can be tied into the impersonation rules you set in the settings.

  1. Go to Me As You → Admin.
  2. You will see a list of all users on your site.
  3. Click the Verify or Unverify button next to a user’s name to grant or revoke their verified status.
